Research and dissemination
RedPanda has cooperated with experts in autism from universities in Switzerland, the UK, and the US. Together, we have conducted research projects in order to better understand and respond to the needs of children and adults with autism in Ecuador.
The results of our research projects have been published in peer-reviewed journals and scientific meetings, such as the International Society for Autism Research Annual Meetings (INSAR).

CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECTS

RESEARCH

Families’ paths towards diagnosis of Autism in Ecuador
Dr. Buffle from Red Panda, in cooperation with the Ecuadorian parents Association (APADA), is currently leading a research aiming to identify the needs of families and individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions in Ecuador.
RESEARCH

Adapting Early Autism Intervention Strategies to local needs
Since 2019, RedPanda has been working to identify factors that can facilitate parents’ access to services for their young children with autism. Remote Parental Coaching to support Parent Mediated Interventions could increase access to evidence-based services for families living in remote places and can also limit the financial burden on families.
RESEARCH

Promoting the involvement of Individuals with Autism on Research Projects
Participative Research involves sharing decision-making with autistic collaborators on research project.
